Sorry for the delay with getting this information out to everyone.
Last month, we released the Bull Shoals Lake Nursery Pond. We estimated that we stocked 300,000 crappie averaging 2 inches into the west sugarloaf arm of the lake. After seeing what happened at Greer's Ferry Lake, we decided to place a block-off net across the release pocket before draining the pond. This gave the crappie fingerlings time to get oriented to their surrounding without having to worry about being eaten. We removed the net the next day after the pond had completely drained.
