I have to say that this past years camp was one of the most awesome that I've attended, thanks to JW, Russ, and many others that worked and contributed to the effort. I do agree with Steve's idea that less giveaways would not hurt a get together at all. It makes it much too hard, and takes too much time, for those in charge to try to get people to donate. A day or two fishing with a pot luck fish cook or hotdog bbq would be great.
I am not against camp sponsors. It is a great opportunity for those with products to get them in the hands of the public.
Thanks to all who have done camps in the past. I have enjoyed everyone that I've been to.
JW, I know you aren't going to teach the young uns to hide from adversity are you? You are a great parent, and have raised those girls of yours as well as anyone could have!!! I'm proud of ya, and I know those kids are to. Life is full of adversities, and it's better to teach them how to overcome that. They will have a life full of them, and they will respond to it the same way you teach them to. You have a thicker skin than those few haters, so don't let them bully you away from this site, and the MANY folks that appreciate who you are My Friend!!!!!!!
Get off your pity pot, and Man Up!!! :) :) :)
This is a better site with you on it.
People don't understand or take the time to consider how much blood, sweat, tears, and time it takes to put a camp together. Y'all let someone someone else pull the wagon a while and get behind it and push when needed. I don't believe in time outs but this is one place it might fit.
I agree with Steve and RCC. It has been great that the goal was for everyone to go home with something won or given away. I got a planer board in just one of the goody bags and I am still trying to figure it out. Just waiting on jig pulling season to get serious with it. I have given away most of the stuff I won at camp to beginners or kids. It was a great effort, and surely appreciated by me and my grandkids. But, getting stuff is not why I go to camps. I get great joy in meeting the people who post on here. I think there is a way for us to still get together and not bust anybody's rear to do it. I bet the sponsors will still be attracted when they are invited to set up booths ETC. We can't let the Crappie Camps die again like they did before when one of two was doing all of the work. DP
JW......I totally understand....Is a totally different place.....Best of luck to you......
one bowhunter to another you did one heck of a job this spring.Love crappie camp.
Thanks guys
JW, i'm a partime AR resident, by the things i read about you and the time spent for the crappie fishermen you are one hell of a person. There are people who must voice there opinion be good or bad of a product instead of using it and if it doesn't conform to there liking's they should put in on the shelf. I have a saying it's not how hard you fall it's how fast you get back up. JW the people on Crappie.com and the state of Arkansas need you for the fine things you do, so please be like a duck and let it roll off your back.:ThumbsUp
