Great post. There is nothing better than seeing a new to the spider technique's face when those poles start slapping the water. We all need to keep paying it forward.

I remember my dad and step dad and uncle taking me fishing before I even could cast . I must have caught a million bluegill and crappie on cane poles ( fishing was really good then ) . Now I am 43 and my dad and step father in their mid to late 60S and my uncle is 77 . I have got to take all of the them a few times the last couple of years on their first spider rigging trips , and we limited out THEY LOVE TO CRAPPIE FISH . I have also guided them to catching the personal best catfish on poles , all over forty pounds and seen them even release a few fish which I never have seen happen in the past LOL. It has been really cool to give back to them since they gave so much of their life not only to my children but to me as a youngster. I lost my mom in 2001 and she loved to fish , I am saddened that I never got to take her to experience the things I have learned to do and share them with her. I also wanted to thank some of you for sharing and teaching me to be a better crappie fisherman . I am not one to post much and have never really learned to post pictures on here but really have learned a lot from many of you and it applied it to what I know . So I guess I am wanting you to see that you have not only helped me but your knowledge has been used to give back to those who have gave so much . Thank you all!!!!!

Made me think of my dad and two uncles who are getting up in age and have spent soo much time time with them in the out doors over the years. They have been on the long hard ride for many years, I want to make sure they get to ride until their final days.

My father instilled a deep love for the outdoors in me from an early age. Whether it was bream fishing during the summer or chasing rabbits during the dead of winter, he always allowed me to tag along. He passed away about 15 years ago at the age of 52 and I never got the opportunity to repay the favor or say thank you. I don' t regret that because he tags along with me whenever I go now and he never complains when the fish are not biting. Make sure you give a warm thank you to whoever got you started in the outdoors and cherish every moment you spend in God' s awesome creation. Life is too short!!!
