Greg , so full of fried fish , taters and Squash tonight it hurts to laugh. Always like to drop my fish at camp when friends show up.:biggrin
Nimrod produces as usual
You're going big, CP is going small..... I don't adapt well enough, don't change. This is just one more thing I'm learning here. Thanks to all here!!!
Conway is a totally different lake than Nimrod. Iv'e seen it many times fish on shallow timber filled lakes they will go for the smaller stuff, especially when the new shad hatch fry are born in summer. On Nimrod the dinks are so many that a bigger bait has a better chance of catching only better fish and is the case on most river run lakes. You haft to adapt to the lake situation, the season, and give a proper presentation to what the fish want...on the body of water your fishing. Let the fish speak to you and tell you what they want. To say bigger is the only way I am going to fish no matter where I am fishing... is a mistake IMO. Be versatile, learn the lakes situation and recognize when bigger just might not be better.
I was having the same problem and asked on the forum how to stop it, and got the same advice. So I tied a big jig that night for the next day. (3") I got some pictures that I can post for ya Greg, be glad to bail ol' Nimrod out.Attachment 167786
