Got on the water at 6:30 Saturday got 3 poles out and I heard a drag start screaming I looked up and half of a 14' Ozark rod was under water I grabbed hold and the fight was on it was a knock down drag the boat around 15 minute battle. The whole time this was going on I was thinking this is a big cat when I finally got it to the top of the water to my surprise it was a huge alligator gar that was foul hooked in the back by far the biggest fish I've ever had on rod and reel I tried to net it and it blew right though it and broke the line what a way to start the day. Now finally it's time for some crappie fishing they were still holding 8 to 10' deep but were scattered caught a lot of fish over deeper water and some in 10 to 15 fow moving slow about .5 double minnow catching them on both hooks. My wife was back in the boat today and she was a big help we had several triples it was a hoot watching her deal with 2 poles at the same time we released several dinks to 8" fish did have to keep a few smaller fish that were gill hooked it was a great weekend one me and Karla will not soon forget.

Wow! That was a good weekend.
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
