Default Birthday, Father's Day probably Christmas too

Look what I caught on sale at Academy for $460.00

I replaced one of my old 565's which was a basic graph so of course I am thrilled. I need some advice though as I took it out for first time today and the DI and SI screens are extremely dark (returns are barely visable). The left side isn't visable at all. All other features work fine. I mounted the transducer on transom exactly as instructed and I don't think anything is blocking the signal with the "possible" exception of another transducer on the opposite (left) side. I'm gonna call hummingbird tomorrow but thought I'd see if anyone had any suggestions. Here is a screen pic.

u have to adjust the color and brightness in the settings, motor may be blocking the side scan if it on back of boat , raise motor and see if that helps

Greg is correct. Having the distance set too wide in shallow water will cause the screens to be too dark. Also running the sensitivity up or down will help as well. You will enjoy the unit when you get the kinks ironed out.
