2-pound crappie or 12-point buck

Thats the way I do it.Been fileting crappie and white bass the last month or so and passing them out.Starting to pay off.
Have 2 phesants for dinner last week,a wild turkey for Thur.,and the deer sausage,jerky,and loins are starting to roll in.:D :D

Bobberwatcher that little cutie looks right at home in a deer stand. She looks like she is holding a Canadian buck in that photo she is so small it makes the deer look huge. You need to get a photo of her holding a 3 pound crappie now.

Cook you are on the borderline between worlds greatest salesman and theif if you are trading white bass for phesant, turkey or deer sausage. White bass is the kinda thing you trade for beans or rice not fine wild meats like that.

Finally in answer to the post. I would take a 12 point any day over a 2 pound crappie. I think the question should have been a 8 point or a 2 pound crappie. There are a ton of 2 pounders caught every year on just about every body of water in Arkansas. However a big 12 point is unusuall anywere in Arkansas. I would compare killing a 12 point to catching a 3+pounder here as they are not something you expect to harvest every year.

Agree'd with Gooch here....as much as I hate to say it....if someone offered me a chance to come out and shoot a big 12 pt buck off their land and someone else offered me the chance to come hook a 2 lb crappie out of their water? It's obvious where I'd be.....Deer Hunting takes up VERY little time, if you know where to go that is....Fishing is something I can do the other 364 days of the years....! However, if I had the access to the size fish you catch every single day Darryl, I would probably not even have time to think about deer hunting but when you have all that time sitting there waiting for coldwater bites, you cannot help but wonder what those deer are doing, haha.

White bass for pheasant is an even-steven trade,not sure about the rest;) ;) :D

I would take a full day of fishing, catching fish, over killing a deer...

We taken 3 deer and a hog ,so we have been busy processing meat. I have plenty of fish in the freezer ,but that don't help the fishing fever. Ha! HA!:D

Man, great pics Nimrod, thanks for sharing. I know what you mean about the fishing fever. Just so you and everyone else knows, CRAPPIE FEVER is a legitimate illness and you can use some of those unused sick days from work. I'll even sign a note for you if you need one because it's all in how you move the pen -- DR. Morris (Darryl Ray Morris) -- and I know how to cure that fever, LOL.

There's no cure for fishing fever, Dr. Morris. Only thing will ease the symptoms is fishing.;) It's terribble when you have a double case, hunting and fishing fevers! Ha! Ha! I'm lucky to be so young and work at nothing all day. Well almost nothing, dang I work hard at my hunting and fishing.:D I may have to start guiding to pay for my illness if it gets any worse.:o
