Wink First time going to lake poinsette

I'm excited since I have seen you all talk about it on here from time to time. Taking advantage of the day off tomorrow and going to leave Batesville about 430 in the morning and go to Lake Poinsette for the first time. Gonna do a little long lining and see what I can stir up. Any one know if there is a place for minnows near by the park, and any tips and pointers from the Arkansas Pros on the board about that lake will be highly appreciated. Thanks ya'll.

PM RCC, he's the Poinsett expert around here. There was a bait shop on the highway before you get to the lake, but I don't know if it's still open. If you come through Jonesboro there is one on Highway 1 on the left side of the road nearly out of town. It's at 5514 stadium blvd. Right after the 2 southbound lanes start. It's a gas station, but they have crickets, minnows, and goldfish.

I share lake info on a need to know basis only. Matter of fact, if my last trip is any indication, I may need Poinsett lake info myself I took a pic of the last trip and tried to upload here and got a message "file size too small".

when you don't catch them at poinsett try Hogue on the way home. but the back of the cove in the northeast corner has had some bushes we fished in the past and did ok.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.

Why would you have trouble catching em at Poinsett??? I have a feeling the ole boy did decent on his trip.
