I fooled the crappie on 4-1-2014

I couldn't take it yesterday, left work about 1:30, and had a wet jig by 3:30. Wind was not too bad, and lake ws about a foot higher than the weekend. There were boats everywhere, so I started off in the wind to stay away from the boats. I drifted along and didn't get a bite for almost an hour. Then I found a tree in 8 fow, along with 3 fish 14"-16" in under 5 minutes. I had found THE SPOT, or so I thought... Fished THE SPOT for another 10 minutes without another bite. Decided t leave it and go shallow, nothing there. Start back to THE SPOT, and this Jack Wagon fires up his motor to jump in front of me, and gets THE SPOT. I was nice enough to offer some advice as to not fish the brush and move bobber to 4' deep and throw out the other side of the boat. I hope he caught a few.

I went to the other side of the lake for my last 1.5 hrs of fishing, and no one was in there, and no wind either. I were confused. I had caught a few in there on Saturday pm. I found the pattern the same in this area the exact same as Saturday, 4 fow, 1 foot deep, 1/16 oz grey head, red sickle hook, and blue and white Joker. I caught some fish jigging, I caught fish slow trolling, and I noticed fish hitting the surface, so I started casting (with a 12' jig pole) and slow reeling it back, and sure nuff, they hit that also.

I ended up with 15 fish, none under 10", except for the 2 (which I didn't count) that were 8.5". We had a problem with hook removal, and I couldn't see putting them back just to die.

In my boat we call those bucket-mouth crappie, they fry up just like a crappie, but have MUCH bigger mouth's. Also, since they are green, we figure they must be sick, thus must be removed from the population, and consumed for fish to human disease transfer studies.
