    Default Advice around Little Rock

Grew up around Maddox bay and east lake. Fishing was easy for me over there when the river was right. Well the river is too dang high being 25 ft in Clarendon. Live around Little Rock and the Mrs. is bout to divorce me if I don't take her this weekend. I get a little nervous being around a whole lot of people as this area is somewhat new to me. Anyone have suggestions of somewhere to go that ain't too crowded? Was lookin at maybe little Maumelle, lake balboa or Winona, possibly clear lake.. What would be the sure fire bet to catch a few and not get too crowded? Much obliged to any help!!

I love crappie fishing lake overcup which is in Morrilton! I don't live out that way so I only get to fish about one a year but there is some really good crappie and bream there. That's where I would go. Lots of trees in the water so I would take it slow. The boat lanes are marked good

Clear lake would be a good choice.

Plum Bayou in won't be crouded this time of year but you can catch some good fish. Its in scott off highway 161. There are 2 AGFC ramps. I prefer the 2nd ramp. More water to work with

Clear might be a good choice. I've fished it last two Saturdays. I haven't caught a limit yet this year, but have caught a few good ones.

Awesome! Clear and plum bayou are closer to my house. Didn't know about lake overcup. Will definitely have to get there and try that one out. Thanks for the advice fellas. Trying to get good at this sport and I am failing miserably right now lol

Plum Bayou would be my choice, lots of cypress next to deep water. Plus you can usually find a spot out of the wind on most days if it's bad.

Whiteriveroxbow.. Love the name. That's ideally where i would like to be this weekend! Don't understand why the river is at almost dang flood stage. We have got the smallest amount of rain that I can remember for winter and spring.. And the river is still at 25 ft!!

Based on the pics above I think Plum Bayou is gonna be my choice!

Clear lake is decent right now, Plum bayou is doing pretty good just off the cypress in the deeper water.

Went to plum bayou today. Tried everything. Fished the middle trees. Fished the banks around treetops. Tried all kinds of different depths.. Didn't get a fish in the 4 hours we fished.

    I swear I'm cursed!
