    Default Village Creek State Park?

I'm heading to Village Creek State Park in the morning for 4 nights with the family. Can anyone give me any pointers for either of the lakes there? I'll be fishing out of a canoe with no depth finder.

Throw in the bass gear. Make sure license is up to date.

I've only fished lake Dunn a couple of times for bream and bass. There's some big Florida strain bass in both those lakes and they are supposed to be good cat fishing lakes although I've never tried them. I recently moved about 8 miles from the park but haven't fished it any due to lack of a boat. I know lake Dunn is pretty deep and I would guess austelle is too. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help but I will ask around and see what I can find out. There's plenty of shoreline cover both timber and rocks in lake Dunn but I'm sure the cold front has pushed them back out a little. Anyway good luck and let us know how you do.

Ain't fished either in years , but use to be Dunn was a big fish lake, and Austell was a numbers lake. They both look line there should be some crappie in there. They don't get that big without a fish fry or two.

It's right the opposite. Dunn for numbers, Austell for size, although there are big bass in both.

Well, size is in the eyes of the beholder, I reckon. And then again, so is numbers.

Fix in to pack up and head to the house. Only caught 2 crappie, but they were gooderns! 14 and 15 inch fish. I hooked something else huge but it came off the hook before I ever got it to the surface. Weather was cold and windy the whole trip. Lake Dunn is a beautiful lake. I wouldn't mind to come back when the weather and the water's a little warmer.
