Plum bayou is tricky after a rain. Dont take much to send the silt off the fields into it and that just seems to screw it all up. If you fish down this way after a rain, go to clear lake. Been here my whole life and 90% of the time it's a good 5 days after a heavy rain before the bayou gets back right. Just a tricky place to fish unless everything is perfect.
Don't feel bad. I took the wife to Clear on Sunday. She couldn't take the cold morning winds after about three hours, so we left with no fish.
Well i hate your misfortune but that does make me feel better! At least I know clear lake would not have been any better. I tell you what though I will be back to plum bayou. Looks like a perfect crappie setting to me. Was beatiful out there as well.
Can somebody tell me where these lakes are from Little Rock..are they in the Scott area?Thanks
I take I-440 to hwy 165 to hwy 161 to get to Clear. You cross Plum Bayou right before you get there.
Plum is one of my all time favorite places to fish. If anybody is down there this weekend stop by and give me a shout. Ill be in a blue silverado with a 1648 war eagle. I'll be the guy that is either hung up in the tree or the guy that has the big drum dragging his jig pole across the bayou

Well I went to clear lake today after trying plum bayou last weekend. It was the mrs and I again. Guess I just stink at this or the fish in England smell the Clarendon river rat in me. Fished from 2:30 till 6:30 and didn't get a fish. Tried cypress knees, trees, buck brush, and lily pads. Tried different jigs and minnows at different depths. And all I got was a dang ole green carp. Crappie just don't like me :hatchet:
