I checked my digital scales with 1/2 ounce egg sinkers. They were pretty close.

You caught a really nice fish. I'd be proud of it. It makes a better story the way it played out. I have a retired buddy that has been crappie fishing since he was a kid and that's all he fishes for. He fish'es year round and has never caught a three lb crappie until this year. This year he caught three. There's still one out there.

Understand completely. No apology necessary. Super nice fish no matter. Most scales are settable. Get something the weight is known, find the set screw on the scale and set the scale. needs to be done periodically. Colonoscapies by them selves aren't real bad, it's the info they bring that can be bad. How ever, prevention is the better out come. I will be praying for good news on the out come...
