Well Greg and I had a great time. He is a good fishing partner for sure. We pre fished Thursday and Friday. We were on a good bite and Greg caught his personal best 2.88lb. Crappie masters was hosted at the trop casino and the seminar Friday night had good free food and beverages. We saw BRM, meathead, Midsouth man, blue thunder, Luvpt and a few more Arkansas boys.
Friday night came and went with a lot of restless sleep. Saturday morning the water cooled off and the water was crowded like Wilhelmina cove on Conway as we counted over 65 boats around us at times. We had a strategy but the fish we found had moved overnight. We stayed at it all day and probably too long in one place cost us I think. The weigh in site was very well done and we were also provided with a meal and drinks while all the fisherman weighed there catches. I think we finished 55 out of 93 boats.
Here is what I leaned.
1. Keep it fun with your partner which Greg and I did. We aren't pros and don't fish the lake like many folks do that placed a whole lot higher.
2 if you want to learn from the pros don't pay the entry fee but boat around and watch the big name boats where they are, what they are doing, etc.
3. Top secret lol
4. When and if it is no longer fun then it's time to quit fishing .
5. They are serious about being prompt for weigh in as saw teams get disqualified for being late.
Would like to thank mike at bait and things for the hospitality
