Well got out today for a little fishing. Didn't see many boats out lol. I guess no one liked the zillion mile an hour wind. Got the boat launched and it wasn't long before I had the ozark rod bending and the drag screaming. The bite was slow but managed 20 big girls with none less than 1.5lbs and several over the 2lbs and pushing 3lbs. I tried some new strike king jigs out today and they were well liked. The fish really didn't want a minnow either. I Fished in 6 foot of water down on the bottom. The fish would hit my jig like a freight train and times were hard to manage. The big girls would quickly surface and tail walk like a bass. Hey nimble I did use my net on all these heavy weight fish. Sorry for the bloody fish as I had cut my finger on my cleaning knife just seconds before holding the fish. My daughter had to come play doctor on it.![]()

Man nice fish!!! I've never fished Conway before. Is it hard to find them?
These were not on lake Conway but water close to the town Conway in the river.
Water way...........
Hmmm.
Well, zillion miles an hour is an understatement. I have no idea how you stayed on the water. If this is lake conway, I'd have spent the day stuck on a stump in these winds. If it's a smaller lake, I can't imagine!!! If it's a creek, I MIGHT sort of believe it!!!Not that I care, I can't go for another week or so.........
Somehow, you guys need to realize you are actually pros, and others can't do this. This is nothing short of amazing.
Thanks buckrub for the comments. I wish I was south I would have caught 10 more of them hawgs lol.
Don't that fry you? It does me, and I rarely catch 20. I know, some think I'm crazy........but splitting the limit in this state is just nuts.
Rant over.
nice fish JW
All men are created equal, some work harder in the preseason.
