That's ABOUT as close to the entire trip report from today as I can get.
There were 8 nice keepers put in the boat. There were about 50 throwbacks that were caught out of two different tops. There was a huge degree of stubbornness in not leaving said tops and going somewhere more productive, just because one old keeper got lost and got in amongst the little kids. I saw some other guys catching some, but mostly dinks. I figure if I can fillet them without cutting my finger off, they're big enough, but geez...some of the throwbacks were just too small.
Probably would have done better in different conditions.
Met Nimrod at breakfast. Buncha guys in there. I was so hungry I ate their hubcap pancake in about 11 seconds. During the breakfast, some guy ran out the door in a huff. My back was to the door. I'm THINKING he saw Nimrod square in the face or something..........the waitress said "Oh he had to run to the doctor" as if it was nuthin'. Sounded mighty suspicious to me. Anyhow...........
it was a nice day, not snowing, no visible ice on the water, and there was enough fish in the livewell to feed Mama supper. I tried to do that "Put Four Fish On Your Two Hands" type picture but they kept slipping off. I have lots I need to master.
Conditions were............temp about 63 for a high, maybe more (that's a guess). Water temperature was 48.7 according to Lowrance. Humminbird that goes on the trolling motor was stupidly forgotten, and left at home. Didn't matter, I have every stick in that place memorized. Calm early, then wind out of the NNW at 34,629 nautical miles per hour, and gusting higher. Sun came out. I got home about dark. Now I'm going to bed, cause it's dark already and I'm tired for some reason. I'll put the boat up tomorrow.
The End.

Ha. I tried to take one of those 4-holdem pictures, and the camera kept blowing out of my hand.
Besides........it's danged embarrassing to take pictures of 20% of a limit.
Nice post and always beware of the hurricane force winds. They appear from time to time.
fun report
Good post thanks
Good job ole buddy. Those 20% limits are ok. Just throw in another handful of fries![]()
