Peanut oil / high temp cooking
I bought a six gallon model at Lumber One in Mayflower in December. I had been looking at it for a while and they had the best price from the price comparison I was able to do. I love it and I am going to try some of that rice bran oil when I change mine out next time.
That clear frying oil at Sam's for $21 works great. Everything I've cooked in it has come out fantastic so far. With these fryer's its hard to burn the oil so cheaper oil (lower smoke point) is fine IMO. Yeah sure peanut oil is great if you are afraid you might get oil to hot like 450deg!! Haha JK...
It was my understanding that with rice oil you could cook at a slightly higher temp and get the batter more crispy but im certianly no cook.
