Default Last day of fishing til next Sat. at crappie camp

This was my last day off until next Saturday, hopefully I will be at crappie camp, fishing. Have to start 12 hour day tomorrow, through Friday, so won't even get to fish in the evenings. This has been a great 4 days off work, originally scheduled for muzzleload hunting, but never made it to the woods. I think crappie fishing has become my favorite past time. Was a windy day today and started off slow as far as keepers go. Only had 3 keepers at 12 o'clock, then the better ones turned on, caught 8 keepers between 12 and 2 o'clock. Hope everybody had a good day. Hey Nimrod you need to start posting your catch we all enjoy looking at them, even if you have different color cans with them. I started posting my catches because of what someone posted about Arkansas board not being very active. If anyone get tired of my post let me know. Good fishing to everyone and hope to see y'all at crappie camp.

    Hey Jerry:

It was slow for me this morning until about 11:00 and then we caught over half our mornings catch and our best fish by 12:15. They sure keep it interesting! The bigger crappie have come a lot shallower in the last few days here. Gonna be just about right for Crappie Camp!!!

Wish I could come down, and wish JT could come too, is this only once a year down there? The next one if I know for sure when it is...I'll come down and book a day fishing with you, if you'll do that one day before the crappie camp? What do you say?

    Hey Minnowman:

We'll probably have another Spring Crappie Camp sometime in April - probably the weekend after Easter. That way everyone can earn some brownie points doing the family thing at Easter so they can take off for Crappie Camp the next weekend.

Sure I'll take you out a day or two before Crappie Camp starts so you can get a head start on everyone else. In fact I'm taking SpeckChaser and a couple other Crappie Campers out tomorrow morning. They got in around noon today and set up camp.

They mentioned that some of the tent pads are too hard for plastic tent stakes so make sure you have some good heavy metal ones or just pick up some 60-penny galvanized nails at Lowe's or Home Depot if you're pitching a tent.
