Pond is just about full and looking to start a program of adding fish. Is there a AGFC individual in SW Arkansas you would recommend to help me come up with a good program for what we have?

If not could you point me in the right direction with correct baitfish types, time to allow them to get strong enough that the they won't get eaten to fast when I introduce the game fish.

Looking at crappie mainly. I know I'm going to get all the "they will take over" comments. I know, and they will stunt. My goal is to have a nice pond with crappie....good sized crappie...that we will fish regularly and have lots of fish fries out of. Something kids can come to and catch crappie pretty easily. I know the bluegill are fun...and bass are pretty awsome. But not wanting the "big bass" pond and I figure kids will enjoy crappie as much as bream to catch. I plan to setup a feeder also.

    Just wondering what you thought.

Thanks for any and info you can give me.

Scrapper - Eric Brinkman and Les claybrook (877) 777-5588 are the Biologist in your part if the state. They are good guys and can help you out. There emails are [email protected] and [email protected].
If you cant get a hold of them after the holidays, you can holler at me (501)412-0356. I always like to give the biologists in the area a shot at it first, so that it doesn't seem like I am encroaching on their territory. Merry Christmas!

You can get Magnolia County White Crappie at Malones.fish farm. Grow well and not as bad to over pop. After first year add hybrid white bass non reproductive. Will keep pop. In check. Mouth to small to eat bigger fish. Keo fish farm.
