Thanks for the compliment. If you ever decide to come up, I'll leave you a buoy on some fish.

David u would just have to fish some of these small waters to know and understand , some of the locations that have been overcrowded r only a few acres of water. , not like the thousands of acres in those big lakes , u say u are catching limits on Sardis pulling cranks, that's thousands of acres of water , I say fishing willomina cove on lake Conway , that's a few acres , put 30 boats in there and it makes a differance !
Thanks for the tip I'll have to check out engineer point next summer! Lol!!!
I am not from Arkansas, but can relate to this thread. I mainly fish a smallish reservoir about 25 minutes from the house. I fished the water about 10 times beginning this year after buying my first boat. My son and I finally got into some crappie and another forum member posted about his catfishing trip the same day my son and I had found some good fish. He added in his post that he saw 2 guys tearing up a limit of crappie. The entire month we had fished this lake the most boats on the water was maybe 5 boats scattered about the lake. Some catfishing and some bass fishing. Never saw a boat in the deeper areas of the lake. The next time we went to fish the lake there were at least 10 boats fishing exactly where the other fella said he had seen us catching fish. This is the reason I don't share what body of water I fish anymore. The funny part of the story was the fish were set up about 500 yards from where we caught our limit the week before. None of the other boats ventured to where we found them, and we fished off the side of the boat away from the free grazers. I never seen one of them bring a fish to the boat. I made sure to make a post to that regard after cleaning a nice mess of fish again. The lake has gone back to the few if any boats the remainder of the year. Had one homeowner from the lakeside meet me at the dock one evening to see what I had been catching because I was spending a lot of time near his dock. We got to talking and I ended up giving him our catch from that day and even cleaned them for him on the truck tail gate. He offered his home anytime we needed shelter or to warm up if we come ice fishing. He said without any prompting from me that our "secret would be safe with him". About 2-3 weeks later we got called of the water for a steak dinner with many of his neighbors and got many more offers to feel free to come to their house if we needed anything. This all may payoff in a very unexpected way. They are planning on closing the lake to non residents of the lake community. More than one said they would put us on the list of family or friends to allow us access to their lake. Pays to do the right thing.
Goes back to wut abh said on an earlier post... stop worrying about if its right they r calling u a lurker jerker and instead use your time digging into the archives and learn sum stuff u don't know... I can tell u flat out there are 3 simple keys to catching crappie which is 1) where r they. 2) what do they want. 3) how do they want it... u figure out those 3 lil steps and ull b golden... now if ull excuse me I have more reading to do...
Who in the Heck!!!? started this Lake X... secret sqirrel stuff anyway's?
Several of you complained about the lurkers until you had your own forum to post hotspots so he couldn't see until they became a member. Now you come down in the main forum saying we're not sharing with the members which some never go to your forum on hotspots.Don't mind looking at your catch but could careless where you caught them.I known like was said in a under post you didn't tell us to click on the forums,in others words don't come here.Nomatter like the thread starter his thoughts don't agree with some and he gets stepped on,its the reason I stopped posting .You can give your thoughts on some thing and if it doesn't agree with some of you your labeled as Lurker. Its gone down hill,Evey disappointed..
Contribute and ye shall receive !
Now let's all go fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will... as soon as we find another secret bite. LOL Everybody needs to pull thier big boy pants up, grab a rod, and go fishing. Stop worrying about if your in a click or not or what and how a fellow post something. If your a lurker, stop lurking and get in the game boys...and earn your stripes (or Stars).
I am going into hiding from now on. Invisible that is lol. Turtle bait we all have opinions and you are certainly welcome to yours even if you disagree with me or others. Having an opinion has never in my book labeled one as a lurker. So keep on posting.
The thread starter had a thought,a view and a opinion but was told in about words go away. Also I guess he could get his post count up by just replying, good mess, good job, will done and be just as important as others. Its a wonder someone hasn't started another crappie forum just for the left over outcast.Think I'll pick another state forum to go to,your hotspots mean Nothing to me but learning something different and new stuff is.If you don't want to share your lake why post a water way, just post your picture and how you caught them.
I guess there is always the democrat/gazette newspaper fishing report people could use. I see the duck report no longer carries good duck hunting info for the same reasons some have stated about fishing reports.
Not sure that is what happened here and hope the original poster didnt take it that way. If you are in my neck of the woods shoot me a pm and I will help if I can, I post some pics but not near like I used to, part of that is is that then I was learning (still am) and kinda wanted to sho off what I had done. Now I dont feel the need to sho off cause I am more comfartable in my abilities.
Dont post much over here but have a good many friends on this board that come over to Sippy to fish quite often, dont think I have failed to share with them or anyone else for that matter when they ask, much the same way folks did for me when I first started.
never met reese but he always answered my questions and we have talked several times. Most done off forum cause you know them sippi folks ;-)
Run your butt down to Washington in February and fish the FJ with us, we can meet then. Camp will be in March at Grenada too, need to be there then, fishing should be awesome ifn we dont have a monsoon that week.
PS ABH, I will be in tourney mode at Washington so I may be tite lipped, hell I stipped all the baits off my poles before we came in on Friday afternoon last year and then bought the bait shop out of the baits we were using, worked too.:biggrin
Bet you never thought lake X would generate this CP.. LOL Yall relax and go fishing.
I understand the mans frustration. He needs to understand you guys frustration as well. As for me when I use to fish two to three days per week, for years. I always shared lake information, baits, color, structure, and depth ; I did it gleefully. Never did I tell a stranger where I was fishing. Most of us do not have the luxury living on a lake or where lakes are in close proximity. Me, I had to travel sixty miles plus to go fishing. I was lucky enough to have a wife that didn't complain a lot on the thousands of dollars a year I spent on fishing. Never was I obligated to one lake. Brother, you got to pay your dues. It will be more gratifying for you.
I figure, right now you have more important obligations. Don't hate on these guys, they spend a lot of money and time chasing crappie. Do like me, I only fish the spawn, throw a hook in the water, practically any thing will hit it. I have other interest now.
I think one needs to put some thought in what these men do to allow them to pursue their fishing habits.
I know where you come from. I'm in KS working right now and between trying to kill a deer which only comes round once a year, seeing family, and doing work around mom n dads, yard work, cutting fire wood, ect. my time if also limited. I plan to really try and set a lot of brush over this set of Holidays we are about to see.
Hey Reese, ya need a partner for the Washington tourney. I am planning on coming to that one. I will need all help I can get. That's one lake that I have yet to limit on. It has skunked me in the past but I am gonna fish minners this year. Look forward to putting a name with a face with a bunch of you sippi guys lol.
Sounds like a good time lol.
John is a great fella. Bring a supply of ear plugs though. ReesGuide loves to talk. LOL
2 peas in a pod
Enjoy! You been warned. Had one fella say that he thoughgt his ears were bleeding. Hahaha.
What a thread. I am glad I don't read this this stuff on the weekend. Just wanted to put in my .02
1. You wont meet a better group of people than on this site. I have met and made life long friends that would do anything for you in their power. My dad said when you die and have 6 to carry you you did good in life. I feel very lucky.
2.Its a thin line between lurker and poster. When I joined I jumped in with all. Pics, Posts and reports. I have posted about putting crappie condos out to putting an frozen water in your minnow bucket in the summer to keep them alive. It dont have to be about limits and hotspots. To all of you that are getting your feeling hurt, this might not be the site for you. Your decision.
3. USE YOUR PM and SHUT YOUR MOUTH. I have never PM'd anyone that has not PM'd me back. If you get info from a .com'r through a PM, that info is secret. Do not repeat it. You will know when the cat is out of the bag but you better not be the one unties the string.I have PM'd people from MS,MO,TN,AR,LA,and TX. Most will help. And if they dont answer you dont get your feelings hurt.
4. Use the site search for info. There is a wealth of knowledge on this site. USE IT
5. Nothing beats time on the water. If you dont get to fish as much as others, use your time wisely. HIRE A GUIDE. The money spent on a guide is priceless. In addition to what you are fishing for that day they will teach you techniques used for the whole year. You will never find a guide that can keep his mouth shut.
6. And last RELAX. Fishing is about having fun with friends and family. If your fishing to survive you could eat ribeye steaks with the money you spend on fishing. Dont get your feeling hurt or turn your nose up. You never know who the next person is that might need help on the water.
Thanks again to all the friends I have made on Crappie.com. I know there is always a empty seat and a cooler of white meat
BillyE
If you go back and read my original post you'll see that I am not bashing anybody for keeping their secrets. As I said I understand. my point was to show why lurkers lurk. It's not always to deplete the fish out of your hole. Some of us just want to learn. I thought I would have a couple days off this week to fish, but as always when work started to slow down to where I could take off, here comes more work than we can get done again.Such a shame with 60 degree weather.
I don't figure I have to post that the fish are biting on Reelfoot. The fish are like me, they are gonna eat most every day there's food! :biggrin
Ark crappie, if ya ever get a hankering I would love to fish reelfoot. Hear a lot about it, I enjoy seeing new water. I will be glad to swap a trip with ya.
Just go fishin....
Seems like this thread has got more people to posting. Seeing a few new names now.
:popcorn.....This needs to be on Lifetime, My wife would enjoy this :biggrin
