You know when I first met him he seemed like a man of conviction.....pushing pony heads....no minnows!!.....in the last year he started pushing some minnows and now single pole jiggin....what is next....jig under a bobber in shallow water....yep no more convictions.......He will do anything to catch 2 lb crappie!!

Paul, you are right I gave up my stubborn way of just spidering. Don't count out the cork and jig method. I grew up fishing that way. Sometimes spidering isn't the best method and one must master all ways to consistently catch fish. I still love spidering and will do that when possible. Combat fishing in some of these crowded winter time holes just isn't very spider fishing friendly. Single pole is very effective and allows me to fish in the water and not someone else's boat lol.

I have fished the river near Maumelle several times lately with no luck on crappie. Plenty bass but no stump knockers. Any tips?

Man I agree with you 100%..I love it all...don't care how or when just want to catch them......I appreciate you, Crappie Pro, Nimrod and all the others that post what you do and how you do it for others like myself to learn. The times are good and it is always a good blessing to get out and fish with your buds and catch fish......we are all lucky.
