I will be praying for God's Healing of your wife. I will also pray for the insurance companies that are telling doctors how to practice medicine. They insurance have no caring, just greed. Mine tells my doctor what medicine to prescribe and how I can take it. It is frustrating. Maybe an ER trip would overcome the insurance companies. Make sure you have them document it as an emergency and then the insurance has no choice but to pay. We will have to learn to think like they do to overcome their greed. I can't even get prescriptions local anymore. Sorry for the rant, I am praying for your wife. Wes

Four lower back surgeries and a fused neck I can also relate. I can't help with doctors or insurance but will offer this piece of advice while she's waiting. Get one of the ex-large Thera Therm heating pads. $73 at Wal-mart I believe. Makes it's own moisture while heating. Use with muscle relaxers if she has some. It's been my experience until you can get it to relax it won't begin to stop hurting. Tell her to stay down as much as possible. Next I'd have your doctor refer her to to a good pain management clinic like innovative spine care in L.R.
Last resort if necessary the best Neurosurgeon you can find, but only as a last resort. Try the heating pad I suggested. If she can relax it will help a lot. Best wishes to both of you.
