Default Brr it was cold but the fish still thumped the ozark rod

Got a holler from mr. Crappie Greg for our annual ice fishing trip. Met up this morning and we put his nice clean boat in the lake to get her slimmed up. The fish were slow to bite but we managed a good mess of fish. Color didn't matter much as long as you stayed on the biting fish. With the wind blowing pretty good and the low 22 degree temperature our line would freeze to the rods. We had plenty of tangles and mishaps losing a few fish along the way. I swear Greg only invited me to run the trolling motor lol. Just kidding, we had a good many laughs today for sure. With all he boats on the water I would have thought it was walmart parking lot at Xmas time. Even had the good old country boy come by honking his southern horn for us a few times as he slipped up and down the launch. Got to see a couple googans come circle us and then bump us off our Bouy too and fish in our back pocket lol. All in all a great time and a bunch of laughs were had.

My dad used to fish in the freezing cold like that. He had a half a 30 gallon barrel that they would build a small fire in the middle of the boat to thaw out periodically. I'm talking 30 years ago though.

    Nice catch!!
