Depth Finder Hummingbird 571 hd di

Have any of you guys owned or used the hummingbird 571 hd di looking for some input on them before getting one. Was looking at it as I don't see that I need the colored model, just something to help out in finding some slabs. Thanks for any comments.

I have found the 898 on ebay for about $900 and thought it may be a chineese counterfit or something. called humminbird to ask them about it. they told me they are most likely legit. it is being discontinued and a lot of dealers are dumping them before the 899 comes out. I use a humminbird 597 hd di and the 898 is hands down much better than mine, at $1000 off retail prices, I'd be buying one if I could stand it right now.

My father-n-law just bought the same unit, but hasn't installed it yet. I think you will like it. One thing though, if you plan on getting a second unit later on for si or whatever, you may have a problem switching back and forth from color to black and white. Just a thought.

I have a 597. Good unit. Smarter than I am! Sounds like a GOOD DEAL. on a better unit. Dont be scared to push all the buttons. Good luck.

I have a 570 di and like it. My buddy has the 571di and says it is terriable?

I run the 898 and it is a great unit. The price you say cant be beat. If you do any trolling you will love the GPS part of any unit

Half Fast and Fishunter. If you guys are looking for new bigger units check with Brian at BBG marine a board sponsor best prices anywhere. You can but brand new 898 and 998 cheaper than what you will find most used units for. You buy one of them new you get full year warranty. Then when you register it with Humminbird you get another year extended premium warranty. Well worth a few dollars more than used.
