As me, my uncle, and my Dad pulled up to the ramp. I thought about my father as he took his time to get into the boat and I remembered to have patience with him. I thought... be glad he is still able to go fishing with you, I looked forward to seeing him set the hook, and catch one of the biggest fish of the day. How glad I was that he would be apart of two great days in a-row fishing with me. You know there will be a time when I won't have that time and there may be a time when I look at the back boat seat and I will never get to see my Dad fishing with me agian. So I cherish every trip with him and all the great memory's over the years. And when and if that time ever comes...I will still be able to look back and still see him sitting there with a crappie smile on his face, the pole bent over and hear his voice... "That's a good one Son", until I too leave this Great Sport we call Crappie Fishing. Love Ya Pops...When you look around you can find allot to be Thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving.

That great Russ Love him all you can.
Today I went to a good friends house that his dad had just got hospital and the man has been like a dad to me when I was a kid. The man took me hunting, fishing, trapping, just as he took his son. I went to his home today to give him a hair cut and after a bit he became upset with the cut hair on him. his wife and the man son is the one who take care of him. But his wife and I was the only one there so off to give him a shower we went. It was just like taking care of my dad when he was sick with cancer. When I left there home I said a pray thanking God for let me be there to help them out as I did when my dad in his last days.
I lost mine 4 years ago and cherish every memory I have of him.

Amen, CP. Lost my dad fourteen years ago and would give many days forward for just one more back in the boat with him. Congrats on great days with your dad and hope you get many more together!

Awesome story and pix. I wasn't fortunate to have a father that hunted and fished. Made me wait until i was 18 to hunt as he didn't like hunting. Still love him but this burned a desire in me to pass it on to my kids!! I take em every chance i get.
