    Default Question for Larry&Darryl

Do you buy your minnows by the pound and keep them someplace or do you purchase them daily as needed? Also, do you still get small minnows. The reason I ask is up here the size goes up during the year. In the spring the "crappie" minnows were small and nice, last week I bought a pound of "crappie" minnows and over half were 3 inches long. And nobody handles rosie reds just plain minners. grizzly
Most people call them green onions, but they are really ---------?????

Most of the roseys we are getting right now are a bit bigger than I normally like but they are still usable. I have an aerated cooler in my boat that I usually keep 1/2 to 1 pound in all the time depending on the weather and water temp. A local storekeeper, Carlos Dugan, keeps live bait and will most likely have what we need for crappie camp. We will also notify the Kirby Landing Marina to see if they can stock up on some for us for that week. The water temp is low enough now that if anyone has a floating minnow box that would be perfect to keep several pounds in for the week.
