yesterday after $60 and prolly 4 hours of cutting and welding metal to make my contraption to pound slab wood down in the mud I finally got it built... then today I went to hurricane and put a load of wood out... it was tuff work BC the wood I had was way too thick but 4 hours later I finally got it all out... I picked out 2 trees about 300 yards apart and I put them out in a staggard pattern all in between the 2 and at 2 diff spots made a sort of a stump field... hands and arms are soar and cut up but hopefully it will b all worth it wen I haul those slab crappie in from my slab honey holes!!![]()

Yea I've jus always had luck with crappie bein on wide pieces of wood thts by itself... seems like the big slabs really like something wide... I like fishing stumps and logs tho and really despise fishing brush... but the PVC would b easier and u won't get hung up on it so I might try some of tht also jus don't know wer I could get sum w/out payin a pretty penny for it... but any advice from u I will gladly take and put it to use... every time u post u have a long and very well explained story and I always enjoy reading them
Pvc does not draw fish as good as wood !!!! TIP---EASY IS Not ALWAYS Best! !!!!

Meant pipe driver. I have drove wood slats and PVC pipe with it making stake beds. Jigs come off easy on these. I anchor my boat on front and back then drive stakes all around it. One person load and other person drive the stakes.
Ever thing sounds great.

arkansasbowhunter, I was following you! Mainly because I was sitting here thinking that was an awfully heavy driver he was holding & that a PVC driver should be easier to handle.
How much trouble do you have finding good lake bottom for driving stakes?
