    Default Seat foam removal

Not having enough time to fish lately my mind has turned to projects on the boat. I am replacing some rooten floor and thought putting a live well in the center bench. I have a 14 foot jon boat, is it safe to remove some of the foam in the center bench, I dont want to compromise the stability of the boat or the floatation?

I did that to one I had a long time ago. No apparent issues- unless you swamp the boat. It might not float if that happens.

The first one I had we cut the top off the center seat and then hinged it and made a storage compartment for life jackets and stuff. Like goblerblaster said, the only thing it will hurt is the sinking of the boat if you manage to swamp it. One way to combat that, if you are replacing the floors, put some sheet styrofoam under them.
