Minn Kota powerdrive v2 won't steer

I got a new minn kota powerdrive v2 without co-pilot, i-pilot , or sonar. I also ordered the I-pilot conversion. Got both out, installed I-pilot per instructions, hooked up to batteries ( 24 volt system) and everything works but the steering. When I went to hook up the I-pilot steering wires to the steering wires on the TM, the plugs were not right. In other words there was a male plug on the TM and a male plug on the I-pilot for the black wire, and a female plug on both ends for the white wire. I made some jumper wires and hooked black to black and white to white per the I-pilot installation instructions. and motor will not steer in either direction with the I-pilot remote. All other remote functions appear to be working. Prop turns, speeds up, anchor stops TM, etc,.. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I figured it out. I was connecting the I-pilot to the control board wires instead of the steering motor wires. Works perfect now. Thanks
