    Default Lake Erling Crankbait Crappie

My daughter and grandkids live near Lake Erling and we try to go down there every other weekend. When we do I usually fish Saturday morning till noon and sometimes Sunday morning till time to go in and go to church. Ended up with 18 averaging a little over a pound. If you can troll crankbaits in Lake Erling you should be able to troll them about anywhere. I get hung up sometimes but it's amazingly limited. The graph is what I like to see, when the fish are on the move I usually do the best.

Looking across that pic, it seems like it would be like cranking Conway. I believe I could get all 6 or 8 hung up at once depending on the wind.

Nice fish! Is this at the park? I fished Blackwell all the way up to the bridge Saturday with jigs and didn't get a bite...

Good job, it takes skill to pull cranks in that. Looks like a single poler's paradise.

I bet I could change my hooks from red to invisible and still get hung.

RCC, I only pull 2 poles on each side with 4 or 5 feet between them when I'm cranking there because I'm usually by myself, anymore than that can be cause for more problems. But it's still amazing to me how they will go over and around that stuff. I really don't hang up that much. That's one reason I posted this because I've never seen anyone else trolling cranks there. And I don't think I've ever not caught fish. And most are nicer than I see people catching with jigs this time of year. Also the ticket seemed to be 25' of line out and pink last weekend and when I don't have any more line out than that they rarely get tangled up when I do have to turn around and get one unhung. Nearly every time they get hung its because the line went directly over the top of the stump and it gets caught in a crack. Other than that the usually bounce off or go around.
