Hand to Hand Combat/Lake Conway 9-10-13

Ever start the day thinking your going to lose the battle? That's what happen to me today when at 11"00AM I only had three fish in my box. I made a move and patterned the fish in tight clusters of trees and stobs with lots of shade. I was so far up in the bush today it was like hand to hand combat with the crappie pulling them out of those thickets. Fighting spider webs, spiders in the trees, limbs poking ya. They were dug in deep in their fox holes today Fishing a slab crappie out of the bush so thick you could hardly move your rod left or right to get them out. Lots of times I had to pull the pole back towards me vertically and hand reel em in. You have not lived until your under a Cypress Tree and a big Arse snake comes falling out of a tree hits your shoulder and thankfully bounced into the water. Me and the crappie were duke'in it out today let me tell ya. Purple and Chart with a 1/32 orange head with black eyes was my main weapon today in deep cover in 5-7 feet deep. I love vertical jigging.
