    Default best line and reels

I am just getting back into fishing after not fishing for like 10 years. Looking for advice on a good line. mostly jig or use minnows. also would like to purchase a good spincast reel for my wife to use. she doesnt like my spinning reels. I bought her a Zebco 33 which used to be a very good all purpose reel, but i have been very disappointed in this one. Thanks in advance.

A good one today is going to be expensive. ABU has a couple that are good but seem to be uncomfortable to me. I have small hands so that's part of it. If you could get to a BPS where they have plenty on handles to try it would be better. She is not going to be happy with one that is hard to handle. Diawa also has a couple that look good. I use mainly braid but the consesus seems to be that Vischous is a pretty good mono.

Good reel is a zebco Z02. My wife has one and it has got a work out from speckled trout in the GOM, to bait sized bream in the local lakes. It is the smaller version. Be prepared to spend $$, but it is worth it.

Thanks RCC. I had saw some good reviews on them. Does she have the combo or did you add a different rod? One other thing that would be nice are big eyes so the bobber stopper doesn't hang up'

It's put on a ladies ugly stick. It has quite a bit of backbone for a short rod. No problems with the stops hanging up. We use the stops that are small red plastic pieces that have 3 or 4 holes for the line to thread through. I spool it with 6lb low memory and it always casts good.
