It was a little crazy with us over there. We would be running along just fine in deep water and just out of the channel was the bottom. We didn't hit any damaging stuff, but we did kick up mud twice.

Hey guys if you fish COE flood control lakes like Nimrod watch out. Some have lower winter time pools and the Corps are dropping them. On Nimrod stumps are a little over 1' under the water in places. River is marked but don't bet your life on bouys being 100% correct. In the main lake as well as some bays there are submerged islands also just hidden shallow enough to ruin a prop. Up some creeks the channel is hard to follow and lined with stumps. The flood a few months back washed in whole trees and there is new hazards showing up even old timers are suprized. I hit a stump last week over there but I had already slowed down and kicked motor out of gear. Others did not know the lake were going across same areas never slowing down!
Fall can be good fishing but most hazardous for boating with lower water levels.

Thanks for the heads up.
Same for Conway. The lake is a little on the low side and some of those stumps in the boat trails are starting to pose a threat. I hit one coming out of Palarm this morning.
