Fishy pictures from nimrod

Well i made plans with mickey to fish this weekend. It was gonna be a new way to fish for me and that was with minner critters. I emailed jerry and he hooked me up with some great colors on them minner critters.

I admit i have spidered with minnows maybe a few times since starting spidering and i do like to pitch minners to brush piles in the spring.

I push jigs 99% of the time. So when i headed to the lake i was excited to try something new. I Scouted the lake friday evening for a couple hours adding more waypoints to my gps. I stopped to fish 45 min before dark and had 15 good fish before i ran out of Light. No pics from that short trip. On the way in I got an invite from lmbarnett to eat a hamburger and so rounded up mick and his wife melba for a burger. man we had a good eat and met mr. Harold and his wife there too. Thanks Matt. Went to bed full for sure.

Saturday morning came and i told mick that we would try some new places and come back to where i found them friday evening if the new areas didnt pay off. Tried two places and struck out but on the third i hit pay dirt. The minner critters were ate up. We had 4-7 fish on at a time and it took us an about an 1.5 hr to limit and cull fish.

The next morning found me buying another pound of minners and hitting the lake in a different area again.

We started drowning minner critters and the crappie ate them up so fast we had a limit of good ol big crappie in an hour. Wow, had multiple doubles and quadruple hookups.
The action was furious.


Here is what i can say. Always keep an open mind to new methods. I will use the minner critters again!!! Thanks Jerry now i am gonna be out of more money lol. Guess i will have to get me a minner critter container.

Well almost forgot to say got to get in on a good ol feed saturday evening with nimrod and his catch. Sure was nice to finally meet her and catch up on some good times. I don't believe i seen Nimrod or Mick laugh so hard and much before. Just don't ask cause i had some crazy folk i put to sleep and great stories to tell em. Got to taste my first flat head, so nimrod said but i think it was a garbonza lol. Sure was good with nimrod catches cole slaw too!! Thanks you guys for a memorable weekend. Heard cmj was up there but never saw him as e was a no show for the feast. I think he may have had some tent issues.

So now lets see, new for this year crank baiting, trolling minners, next is gonna be single poling for the specs i think if i can convince nimrod to haul me around a day lol.

Guys, use the opportunity to get to know the folks of the forum. There is a wealth of information to be gleaned from these folks. There are always some rotten eggs in a clutch and i have been guilty at times of being one i am sure. One thing for sure is life is short, realize that no one is perfect including yourself, forgive and forget past disputes, and fish anytime you can with your family and friends.

That's an impressive pile of fish. Sorry I missed the fish fry. I ran off and left my tent posts at the house and I was in the middle of playing Mcguyver when Nimrod came by with the invite. Looks like you guys had a good time.

Hey J.W., I've always said that I would fish with a sweet gum ball if it would put Crappie in the boat when nothing else works. Heck, me and David bought minners at Nader this weekend to experiment with. There is a time when they have their place. You know our style of fishing and you know we don't use them most of the time but there are certain times they must be in the boat, and when they are, Minner Critters is our "go to" presentation of choice because they work!
