This past Monday I was in north Arkansas for work. As I usually do, I brought a spining rod and a couple of my favorite creek smallmouth baits. So, I hiked about 3 miles upstream of the AGFC Fred Berry Education Center on Crooked Creek. The creek was really low but I did manage to find some fish in a couple of deeper riffles and holes this far up river. Here are a couple pictures of some of the fish I caught. I caught about 20 smallmouth, ozark bass, and green sunfish. Unfortunatly my battereis died after about 5 pictures. Note the baits, The first one (YUM crawbug) is my secret weapon on these fiesty little fish. The secound is a getzit, which most folks know about. I prefer green pumkin with orange fleck for both of them. IF you have not fished this creek, I highly recommend it. The Spring time and early summer is the best time of the year. thanks for looking.
