    Default MS River oxbow fishing......

Got out Thursday and hit up an oxbow for the first time this year. Been waiting for 6 months for the river to get right. It finally reached the level I have been waiting on but its back on the rise again so its a good thing we went Thursday. We put a 50 spot on em and caught some nice fish to. You never know what you will catch in these oxbows either as we caught black and white crappie, largemouth bass, striped bass, drum, catfish, gar and carp.

Nice work Handi. The dang river just refuses to get right and stay right this year.

Hope you are right. I'm hoping as soon as this rise happens it will fall back out pretty quick. If it will ever get right it will make for a great fall.

BroHarrel, I can see why you didn't catch as many. The fish you were fishing for were smarter. See those 3 reading the news paper. Ain't no doubt they don't need any more schooling. Look at that one, he's reading about the Handyman. They had heard the rumors and weren't planning on being caught.
