minnowman,
It's not like I'm a chemist or any kind of expert on building a fish attractant paste. I just intend to do some experimentation along these lines.
What I have learned is that most pastes are cellulose based, with enzymes and amino acids that emulate a natural fish taste to game fish.
And I do mean taste. I have been corrected to the fact that fish cannot, do not smell, they taste there food before ingesting it.
This is what I mean when I say that crappie nibbles and The Bait Pump do nothing in the lines of finding fish or making them strike. They do every thing as far as giving you the extra few seconds that you need to achieve a deeper and solid hook set. ;)
Basically by stuffing crappie nibbles in side your plastics, you get to reuse, for lack of a better word, your crappie nibbles over and over again. ;)
If I come up with a paste recipe, I will share with you and others that want to try it. :)
Thanks,
Randy

DRPEPPER,
I always put the jig on the jig head first. Yes on the wal-mart jigs (I call them), the 1" to 1 1/2" long jigs, it will be a little tight, but just stick it up in there about 1/8" and give it a turn. I can promise you the jig will have all the nibbles in it that it will hold. ;)
With a little practice you'll be filling them without even thinking about it. ;)
The little micro jigs will not work, but I don't know of anyone that uses them.
Try the www.midsouthtackle.com jigs. You'll be pleased.....;)
Don't be scared to hurt the nozzle, I'm sure it will not tear your jig.... :)
I fill that size jigs for folks on the lake a lot.
