    Default Decent day ...

Hit the water this morning just before 6 and got run off by a storm at 5 pm. Had what seemed like a light bite all day. The fish would just take and hold the jig without any thump to it. I changed jig colors at least a dozen times. Finally about 3 pm I went to this...

That's a 1/16 oz plain minnow style head that I pour and a mid south tube in an olive/clear color with red flake. I normally use that skirt in real clear water on finicky fish, not Reelfoot colored water.
The fish were in the pads in 3 FOW and right on the bottom in the thickest mat of pads you could find and the jig had to be worked into a tiny opening. Reminded me of playing the old game Operation. Any way, salvaged a decent day with 20 crappie and one big bream. A few 10" fish and several 11" fish with some good uns to boot.

The best 7 weighed 11.48 with an average of 1.7 (I need fish like this in a tournament in the central part of the state. Maybe we need to fish over here one time. Lol). Here's the 7 best of the bunch

Just goes to show you can't give up and you gotta change your tactics. At 3 pm I had 6 fish in the livewell.
