Default Nimrod lake/ Bream / Crappie/ Ozark rod

Don't know what happened to Nimrod but it sure has fallen off. I finally got out there about lunch time yesterday. Water is nasty and it was awful windy. Wanting to break the Dardanelle habit but not really. Just tired of driving that far with Nimrod right here.
Started out Bream fishing and found some beds but Bull Bluegills were not as big as last 2 summers. After catching a bunch , I could not pass up the chance to try my new 11' Ozark rod I drew at Crappie camp donated by Conway ''Don Blakely''. It worked flawlessly and I was able to jig up 16 keepers (over 10'' to 13'' Crappie) before tiring out. Thing is they were so poor I really hate not going to Dardanelle. Soon as the weather changes I may be back over there.

Glad to hear your catching them in nimrod again. Maybe the crappie are just having an off year? I want to fish nimrod sometime this summer. I've heard it is better fishing in the summer...is this true? Also what type of fishing catches the most fish in nimrod...it's deep and clear correct? Sorry not trying to hijack your thread and I am sure I can search CDC for this info but I am very curious about nimrod! Not to mention there is a tournament on nimrod this summer so I am sure lots of folks are curious about the lake!

Dardanelle will ruin a fellow. I'm ready to get back over to some other place than here. The few crappie that I caught saturday were as thin as Lake Charles crappie.

DANG bro, open up a can o worms why dontcha? I hear-tell that single-poling purple/chartreuse Umbrella tubes over the bajillion brush piles is the only way to catch em over there. BUT...............I have ALSO heard of some of this going on in the channels. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1369142170.680967.jpg

Lots of ways to catch fish here. Just about anyway will produce fish. Spider rigging will produce best at times when they suspend. But I just perfer to jig fish and can usually limit out anytime in warm weather if lake is normal.

Howdy Nimrod, We are about to be neighbors, sorta. I finally got the green light to move to Hot Springs and it looks like we'll probabll buy a house in Hot Springs Village.

When I saw your location as Plainview, I was confused. My mom lives near Plainview, but nowhere near Lake Nimrod. There is another "Plainview" over in White County, it's not much more than a bait shop across the road from a gas station.

And there is ANOTHER Plainview, AR over in White County, where my mother lives. Confused me too.

I hadn't seen that in Arkansas before, two towns with the same name.
