    Default We went fishing

Was gonna fish for the little fish contest, but the big ones were biting so we just hammered on them. Did real good. Finished with 60. The 12 pack cooler was almost full, but it did have some ice in the bottom.Name: 012.jpg

They averaged about this size. No great big slabs, but some really nice fish. Name: 017.jpg

Size: 55.8 KB I started to do a tailgate shot, but just before I laid them out, I realized the jeep had no tailgate. I started laying them out on the hood, but Carol stopped me for some strange reason. I had to settle for the classic one slab in each hand hold since I wasn't proficient in the Crappie Pro "look ma no hands hold". Name: 009.jpg

Pardon the long arm, but I couldn't resist. I'm sure you are all wanting to know the secret to our success. We used minners, jigs, nibbles, and bare hooks to catch the fish. Hot colors were blue, chartreuse, green, purple, black, white, and several combinations of the previous colors. We caught from 18 inches to 10 feet deep, under a cork and also casting and slow rolling. Hope this helps put you on some good fish like ours. You can thank me later. Lake Charles is on fire.

Man!!! That's quite a bowl of Corn Flakes you got there RCC! That one in your right hand looks like he's pushing.3, maybe even .4lbs. It's good to see you finally got to get out and chase some ghosts.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. For those that don't know, the best way to prepare and eat these is to take a fillet off of each side. Meal and fry as normal, except for a whole lot shorter time. Dump the fried fillets into a cereal bowl and eat them with a spoon. Tony said to add milk, but I don't do this to mine. I call them corn flake crappie. One serving is about 20 medium crappie like these. If they run small like some people catch, it may take 30 crappie per serving.
