Lake Willowstein in Maumelle is a nice bluegill/catfish/bass lake. Plenty of bank and pier fishing opportunities. There is also a picnic area and park for the kids to play after they get tired of fishing. Maumelle is a short drive from LR and Liz shouldn't draw too much attention there.

Burns park should have some decent bank fishing, and below the dam at times the whites and stripers can be a blast. Not to mention the cats in the AR river, you never know what you are going to catch, 1 lb - 25lb or bigger.

Plenty of family fishing ponds but Willowstein sounds like a winner.
