WTG Greg and CP !
CP and Greg, congrats!! You guys found some nice fish!!
Congrats to the rest of the teams to for fishing on what did prove to be a tough day! The weather was great but the bite was slow at least for me.
Jason, thanks again for getting CACA started and running these tournaments! I'm having a blast at each one of them!!
I'll mirror what's been said already. Get out and fish these tournaments. I have never fished any of the lakes that were on the schedule and it doesn't bother me a bit. I don't go into these tournaments looking to win as I realize I don't know these lakes like some of the guys I'm fishing against, but I'm learning!
The folks fishing these tournaments are nothing short if Great People!! I've had many of them give me advice and tips to help me out. I didn't know any of them until I started fishing the tourneys. I feel like I've made some good friends! I've also got to fish some water that I wouldn't have fished otherwise.
Come on out and fish and enjoy this with us!!
I am looking forward to fishing Dardanelle in 2 weeks!
X 2 what has been said above! Jason does a great job and hosts a wonderful event. We already have the largest crappie camp, now let make it the largest crappie tournament! If I can be of any help to anyone, please let me know.
Congrats to all the winners. Nice job guys.
X3 on the above. Congrats to Russ and Greg. It was a great day, on the water and off. Jason, thanks for your hard work on these tourneys, I hope to be able to fish a few more. Jeremy is a great guy to fish with also. Everybody did well on a TOUGH day. There was a lot of locals coming off of the lake with nothing. Hope to see a few more boats at the next one..
Greg you and Russ sure make it look easy :biggrin
Man the three lake challenge was a chess match... and it was a tuff bite on all three lakes. Me and Greg decided to just Pre fish two of the three lakes and picked Harris Break mainly because we saw a slow but bigger fish bite on it. We caught some numbers and caught plenty of 1 lb fish on Brewer but had a real hard time catching any size at all on it. We carpet bombed barely submerged wood cover (plenty of it Around) we saw just below the surface, and some above the surface with four jigs, two poles apiece fishing 7 feet deep in 9-12 feet of water. White and Chart was the color in the morning and metallic/chart jigs on 1/16 oz heads did most the damage later in the day. We fished minnows hard but with little luck and did better tipping with a nibble. All of our fish came out of just two areas about an acre in diameter.
As already said thanks to everybody who came out and fished with the CACA. Great job guys. I hope to see more of you at Dardanelle next week. Thanks JasonW and Jim for stepping up and being the CACA Tourney Trail director. Your doing a Great Job. For you verticle jiggers who think you cant compete with spider riggers in a tourney, think it's not fair for spider riggers to fish with eight poles, Think again... verticle Jigging has won the last three CACA tourneys I do believe. SO grab your jig poles and come out and give it a try. It will only cost you 30 dollars if you fish with someone...You will be on one of the best crappie lakes in the land... and I will bet you will be surprised how good you do. Hope to see you all there next week..LOL I am going right back out and fish some more right after Weigh Ins. If we don't have 40 already that is. SO come on C.Comers lets get together in the spirit of fellowship and friendly competition... I promise you will have fun. Tight Lines.
A few more Pics of some of the guys that fished the tourney at the west boat ramp of Lake OverCup. It was a fun day with some of our C.Com/CACA brothers. Hope to see ya all next week at Dardanelle.
It was my 1st tourney to fish and had a great time. Tough fishing!
Congrats to CP and CG!
