    Default close encounter on sunday

Near disaster narrowly averted. Heading east on Prospect at the tracks. As I started onto the tracks the lights came on and the gates started down. Gates came down on second set of tracks stopping me. Looked in mirror and the gates were closing over my boat which would trap Mr on tracks. Kicked er down and pulled up between the two tracks. The gate barely caught my motor and scratched it. The way it has been running I should have left it.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

Wow. Talk about a bad situation. I'm glad you acted quickly enough to get out of danger with minor damages.

Thought you was gonna say that you almost caught a Crappie. Better keep alert on them Rail Road crossings! Be real bad to get hung up there, might lose a good rig. Could have loss a Guber named Snerd too!

I had an encounter like this myself. Only thing , i was running the train !! Was running about 50 MPH headed west thru arlington texas, looked up and WHAT ?? A man was running down the tracks (toward me) with his ballcap in his hand waving and thrashing around , he had my attention pretty good !! Looked PAST him and saw the problem....... a 18 Wheeler low boy trailer hung up on the tracks.... the guy was the driver trying to hail me to stop !! I placed the train in Emergency Stop and went right past the guy ....was closing in on the big rig FAST.... went over 1/4 mile and came within 100 FEET of a colision. What was in the 18 wheeler trailer ??? about 12 brand new Ranger bass boats !!!! close call but all was well . many others have NOT been so lucky ! Please everyone , WATCH the tracks !!!

I hate that crossing- many people hurt there
