Default Petit Jean River at Hise Hill Report

I caught about 40 and kept 20 yesterday afternoon. They were still deep even though the river had been dropped several feet back to normal. I was catching them on black/chart, black/red jigs but mainly on chart or orange roadrunners tipped with minnows. Fishing in 15-24 feet of water and catching them 8-12 feet deep. I got to try oput my new spider rig I made. It worked great.
    Thanks for looking.

Good fish especially in that chocolate milk it looks like you were fishing in. I think I may head back to blue mountain next time I fish. Is anyone catching them shallow in the cypress trees? Thanks for the report!

The lady at the bait shop in booneville said they were starting to catch them in the lake but she didn't have any detailed info.

This is my first year to crappie fish the river and it's working out pretty good. Caught 40 one day and about 45 the other time. The fish seem to be smaller in size than what they are in the lake but still good enough for me. I think I am going to go back again saturday afternoon. Good luck to you if you go

It seems like people are catching more fish when they fish towardss the lake instead of going the other way on the river. I have been fishing probly 500 yards from the ramp and fishing towards the lake back and forth just trolling. Good luck to you
