Single pole jigging is all I do - is there another way to crappie fish?
I single pole about 90% of the time. I love fishing around cypress. To me nothing even comes close than pulling one out from around a cypress. About as basic as it can get, one pole one jig. The time for that may just be a few weeks in the spring but that is when I take most of my vacation trying to hit it right.
Caught some here last week at Grand Lake

Beautiful pics. Ever tried Conway? There are plenty of Cypress to jig there from March-October. Some real slabs too!!
Thanks for sharing the picture I am also addicted to the thump.
I cannot tell a lie, contrary to What Rtark says..lol I do love the single pole, tight lining them crappie, Second in line comes jigs and bobber's. there's just something about that bobber being sucked under that warms my soul, lordy, I do love it! I ain't above casting jigs to them rascals if thats what they want, lets face it,,I love being on the water with a good friend....unless he starts showing out like Rtark did today, I got a severe spanking..I think about 14 to 1...that my friends will humble you. It didn't help that I borke my second rod in as many days....and Rtark, my former friend, smirked..............looking for a NEW fishing partner now adays..lol
I verticle jig submerged structures (brush piles, pallet beds, driven stake beds and stumps.) Here I catch most of the year that way. Love that thump on a good graphite jig pole. Trolling minnows just don't seem sporting to me and not near as much fun. I may not catch as many using this method but usually catch enough.
