Ok Guys . Been thru this time and time again , but technology(i cant spell) keeps getting better and better stuff :ie: line , baits, sonar etc etc ...........gimmie your best for each please ......#1 is your best line and why for casting small jigs #2 for single pole jigging .......dont really care about corks , multi-rods, drifting, trolling, just the basic stuff ........casting and single pole in brush.

    Casting I use 4# line.
I use a 6' 6" Light / Medium spinning rod and a small spinning reel with 4# line.
I use VERY LITTLE energy slinging a jig . The light line makes it cast so nice!
Others that fish with me.... With there jank equipment and heavy line rock the boat so hard while casting they send wakes out! I HATE THIS!!!

    Jigging I use 6#.
Used to I used 4# but found if your using a 1/8 oz jig head and you set the hook and miss... When that jig leaves the water it don't stop! Plus the 4# has some stretch to it...

I was taught growing up... The lighter the line you can get away with the more fish you'll catch...

I have been using Berkley NanoFil 6lb in green on my casting rig. Its pricy but well worth it IMO. The wife and I went trout fishing last weekend and she throws a BlueFox inline spinner which causes line twist and me a lot of headaches. The line performed very well and you can cast a mile and not one issue with line twist. I use it with a fast action 6'6" ultra light rod and a small spincast reel to throw jigs of all sizes. I use Seaguar fluorocarbon 6 and 8 lb on my jig pole depending on where and how Im fishing..
