    Default Camptown RV and Marine

Fellas, I wouldn't take a boat or a motor up there if they promised to fix it for free. Not without taking lots of pictures, writing down the serial number, buying some more insurance on it, and taking three witnesses and a lawyer with me to drop it off. A good friend of mine dropped off a boat with a yamaha 25 4 stroke on it, and "somebody" stole his motor and I believe three others while they were on Camptowns lot. Now he's refusing to pay for it, saying it was a 2 stroke, and can't produce a copy of the work order that should've stated exactly what kindda motor it was, and on top of all that calling my friend , and I quote, "too ****ing stupid to read the sign on the wall. " How can you run a place of business like that? They ain't getting my business. Oh and if ya see a good deal on a 2002 model yamaha 25 hrs, please contact the Craighead County Sheriff's department. Just a heads up.

Hate to hear that. Bad situation for all it sounds like. Sounds like the owners admitted it had a motor on it but the only discrepancy would be the price in a 2 or 4 stroke. Is this correct?

Thats not the only discrepancy. Although it is one. They're not wanting to pay for it at all.

Gotcha, seems like if they admitted a motor was on the boat they would be liable regardless of any other factors. Keep us updated. I've only had one dealing with them and it was ok. Hope this gets resolved quickly.

And I went in to ask him why. He said you look like a fine outstanding young man, I think you'll do....

Sounds like our local scam shop. The local guy here gives no tickets or receipts for motors left with him. No paper work even on ones that do get fixed. Several here over the years tell of never getting motor fixed or only a box of parts. That should be a red flag if you get nothing showing your motor left with them. IMO
