    Didn't want to hijack Tony's post, but here is cheapest jig knocker you can have. After I paid for a molded egg sinker with clip in it. I keep one of these laying by seat always.This is a 5oz one. needlenose pliers squared one end up a little.Name: IMG_0204.jpg Views: 477 Size: 41.2 KB

    Good idea Steve.
    So, you don't use a chord to pull the lure off of the stump? I have always thought the idea was to get the retreival tool tangeled up in the hooks of the lure.

    I always break them off. most of the time I needed to retie anyway.

    I've saved a many a walleye jiggin spoons with that same setup. I use a bass sinker with a big snap on it.
