    Default Lake Conway 3-27-13

I fished Gold Creek Wednesday afternoon from about 4 til dark and didn't catch a crappie. I saw several other boats, including two boats who were spider rigging in the pool. Just wandering if any of the boats out there were some of you guys and how you did? Between the tourney last weekend and Wednesday, Conway has shut me out twice in a row.

Not sure, but it's got me wondering just how to fish Conway right now. After yesterday i went home and got on the weather sight. Barometer was 30.20 and rising. Must have had those fish pushed deep onto structure.

I got skunked on Thursday. Lots of boats, maybe a handle full of fish I saw caught. Only fish i saw being caught were in 3ft of water, in a shallow cove where the water was 58 degrees. There were also 100 to 200 yo-yos out, and I didn't see a single fish caught on any of them.

This is a tough time of year for Conway. The changing temps and rising/falling barometric pressure really does a number on the shallower lakes. We, (Me and Howards Cowards,) didn't have any problems getting them to bite today, just couldnt find very many decent fish. We did find some brush where the water was a couple degrees warmer, and we pulled out several nice males that had their tuxes on. I am ready for some stable weather.
