    Default Fish Finder

I need an inexpenisve fish finder for the front of my boat. I want one with a transducer on the trolling motor. Any ideas on what to get and where to get it? Also how hard is it to mount?

For years I used an old Eagle finder... Pretty much just showed humps on the bottom and the depth. I caught just as many fish then as I do now...
I do prefer one that reads temp tho..
There are a few Mgf's out there and I don't think any are better than another.
Usually Gander Mtn. Will have a deal on discontinued units.

I took a piece of pipe insulation a couple inches long, sliced in half, put it between my transducer bracket and my trolling motor and secured it with a large hose clamp. Works great.

I got the hb pirannamax 175 at Walmart for 99 dollars. Mounted the ducer it came with on my trolling motor and it works good enough for me. Shows water temp, depth, supposedly fish, and structure shows up depending on what it is.

If you are talking real cheap think I would opt for the Garmin in color. Low, hummingbird and Garmin all make one. Just seems from what I have seen the Garmin is just a little better unit for the money. And I'm talking 100-150.

Garmin took us through the burning oil fields in Iraq and the million man Army "HO" too BAGHDAD. Great company!!! Make a great fishfinder for the price!!!

A buddy of mine has a hummingbird 153 piranha brand new in box for sale. He's asking $75 maybe you could get it cheaper. Let me know if you need his number. He's located in Conway

No matter what finder you choose to fit your price range/needs I'd suggest using Nextag online. They are really good at finding the cheapest deals, best deals out there. I just bought a hummingbird 587 for just over $400 that anywhere else would've cost me $450 easily. If I'd have waited I could've gotten it for just under $400 at around $380ish. You can look up much cheaper models there too so don't feel like you gotta buy a $400 unit. As for the ducer mounting to the T-motor that's a matter of zip ties and a cable clamp around the head of your T-motor, really easy to do.
